Ann Marie Sastry

Founder, CEO, and Chair, Amesite Inc. Board of Directors

Ann Marie Sastry is Founder and CEO of Amesite, an artificial intelligence software company that provides turnkey learning platforms to universities, businesses and government, and delivers 99% learner retention. Dr. Sastry was CEO and co-Founder of Sakti3 (acquired by Dyson in 2015 for $90M), recognized as one of MIT’s 50 Smartest Companies (2015). Sastry was recognized at the White House by President Barack Obama for her technology entrepreneurship (2015). Prior to starting her companies, she was Arthur F. Thurnau Professor (UM’s highest teaching honor) at the University of Michigan, for 17 years. Tenured and promoted early, Sastry was recognized with some of the highest honors in her scientific fields, including the ASME Frank Kreith Energy Award (2011) and NSF’s Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (1997). She has co-authored over 100 publications and 100 patents and filings, and has delivered invited technology and business lectures and seminars globally (e.g. NSF, MIT, Stanford, UC Berkeley, Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard). Her technology and business work have been featured in WSJ, Fortune, Forbes, The Economist, USA Today, The New York Times and on the cover of Inc. Sastry is active in business mentorship and philanthropy, in education, environment, and poverty alleviation.

George Parmer

Member, Amesite Inc. Board of Directors

Parmer sits on the board of Linkbancorp, Inc., is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Messiah University in Pennsylvania. He is the founder and president of residential home building and development company Fine Line Homes, which has developments along the east coast from New York to North Carolina. He is also the founder and president of nationwide company Residential Warranty Corporation and three insurance companies located in Colorado, Pennsylvania, and Texas.

J. Michael Losh

Member, Amesite Inc. Board of Directors

Mr. Losh has served as a member of Amesite’s board of directors since Feb. 2018. Mr. Losh served as the Chief Financial Officer at Cardinal Health from July 2004 to May 2005. Mr. Losh was with General Motors from 1964 to 2000. He served as the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of General Motors Corp., the world’s largest vehicle manufacturer, from July 1994 to August 2000. He is the Chairman of the Board of Masco Corp. (2015-present), and Director at Aon PLC (2003-present), HB Fuller Co (2001-present), and Prologis, Inc. (2012-present). Mr. Losh has served as a director of AMB Corp., Cardinal Health Inc., Care Fusion Inc., Electronic Data Systems Corp., Delphi Automotive Systems Corp., Hughes Electronics, Quaker Oats Company, and TRW Automotive Inc. He served as Chairman of the boards of GMAC and Metaldyne Corp. Mr. Losh holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Kettering University and an M.B.A. from Harvard University.

Barbie Brewer

Member, Amesite Inc. Board of Directors

Ms. Brewer began her career in 1996 with a successful Bay Area start-up, building the HR function as the company grew from 20 to more than 500 employees. Following that adventure, she was exposed to more traditional hr while working for IBM and Cisco, both in the U.S. and based in Europe. Throughout her career, Ms. Brewer has worked in or managed all areas of the HR function, facilities, and IT. She served as the head of hr for Sportvision and Tiburon before joining Netflix as Vice President, Talent in 2011. In 2017, Ms. Brewer rejoined the start-up world as GitLab’s Chief Culture Officer, and then Marqeta as Chief People Officer. Joining Amesite’s board in 2019 has been one of the highlights for her career. She has a passion to enable remote work, build strong cultures that value inclusiveness, and leadership development. Ms. Brewer holds a B.A. from Santa Clara University and a master’s in human resources management.

Gilbert S. Omenn, MD, Ph.D.

Member, Amesite Inc. Board of Directors

Gilbert Omenn is the Harold T. Shapiro Distinguished University Professor of Computational Medicine & Bioinformatics, Internal Medicine, Human Genetics, and Public Health and founding director of the Center for Computational Medicine & Bioinformatics at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. His research is focused on proteo-genomics and bioinformatics of cancers. He led the global Human Proteome Project (www.hupo.org) for the past decade. He previously worked on biochemical genetics of the brain, cancer prevention, health promotion and disease prevention for older adults, and science and health policy. He is an author of 618 publications with 39,000 citations/h-index 81 and editor/author of 18 books.

He was a White House Fellow at the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission, Associate Director of the White House Office of Science & Technology Policy and the Office of Management & Budget, and President of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He chaired the Presidential/Congressional Commission on Risk Assessment & Risk Management in the 1990s. He served on the board of Amgen, Inc. for 27 years and Rohm & Haas Company for 22 years. He is an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and a fellow of the American College of Physicians and the AAAS. He received the Walsh McDermott Medal from the National Academy of Medicine and the David E. Rogers Award from the Association of American Medical Colleges. He holds a BA from Princeton, MD from Harvard, and PhD in Genetics from the University of Washington. He has three children and seven grandchildren. He is a musician and tennis player.
